Austrian Provenance Research Lexicon

To mark the 20th anniversary of the “Washington Principles” and the establishment of the Commission for Provenance Research, the Austrian Provenance Research Lexicon was presented on campus at the University of Vienna.
It was conceived as a digital project dedicated to sharing knowledge and already contains over 200 articles on the seizure of art and cultural assets under the Nazis.
Provenance researchers and various Austrian and German institutions have compiled compact lexicon entries on the individuals and institutions active in the museum landscape and in art and cultural politics between 1930 and 1960.
The Austrian Provenance Research Lexicon is a collation of information spanning a range of disciplines and institutions. It is continually being expanded and updated.
