Covering colour and watercolour; black framing line and wide grey frame, dated 1834. Inscription, recto, right, below the design: 'C. Freydanck fec: 1834.' (pen-and-ink in black), below: 'CFrick (interlaced)' (pen-and-ink in black), lower centre: 'Ansicht des japanischen Hauses im Garten von Sans souci. (i.e. view of the Japanese house in the garden of Sanssouci - incorrect: There is only a Chinese pavilion in the park of Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam)' (pen-and-ink in black). On reverse, below left: '38533 < underlined > /fpa' (pencil)

Filiation: Joachim von Ribbentrop, Tentschach Palace near Klagenfurt. Transferred to the Albertina by the Federal Office for the Protection of Monuments ('Bundesdenkmalamt') in 1964 (Zl. 1964/872, 1964/1364). A report to the Commission for Provenance Research is available.
