Acquired from the so-called Art Museum, Linz (i.e. Hitler's museum project) in 1944. Transferred to the Albertina by the Federal Office for the Protection of Monuments ('Bundesdenkmalamt') in 1963 (Zl. 1274/63: Finally inventorised in 1965). A report to the Commission for Provenance Research is available.

In its meeting of June 15, 2018 the Advisory Board unanimously reached the following decision: The Advisory Board recommends to the Federal Minister for EU, Art, Culture and Media that the art object from the graphic collection of the Albertina be handed over to the heirs of Louis Rothschild.
