Description

Silk, perl and metal embroidery on linen, Vienna, around 1720, antependium, colourful silk embroidery, flowers, foliage and baroque strap work with pictorial medallion: An angel accompanies Habakuk carrying him through the air by his hair over a mountain and river landscape. The colourful flowers, foliage and baroque strap work in needlepoint over a gold background, gilded silver layers sewn down with yellow silk in small rhomboid patterns, Vienna, around 1720
