Acquired at auction, Auction House Adolf Weinmüller, Munich, in 1939, which offered the piece by order of a trustee ('im Auftrag eines Treuhänders') (files of the Albertina 10 and 27 January 1940, unrecorded. Zl. 294/1940, 312/11940, 349/1940). A report to the Commission for Provenance Research is available.
