Description
Distaff. Stick and board carved and glued separately. The board has partial zigzag borders and fine chip carving decorations on the front: geometric motifs, zigzag lines, a stylized leafy vine, two flowers with ten petals, above that a field containing the date “1921”. Above it the board is cut off (possibly a cross). On the reverse is a spike to secure the wad of sheep’s fleece. Lefkada, Greece.
