Description
Spoon holder comprised of two elements. Lower level with carved front board: in the center a heart with “3” for faithfulness surrounded by tendrils and blossoms. Upper level with narrow painted front board: hunter, shooting at three stags from the left, to the right three chamoises on rocky outcrop and painted back wall: left the mountain hut in block construction, to its right four cows and a couple (dairymaid and boy). Back wall at the top with a carved top piece, wooden bobbles hang in five ovals, above them in the center a rectangular mirror, uppermost adornment missing. Figural painting in strong colors before a green background. Salzkammergut, Styria, ca. 1815.
