Description
Handled bottle (narrow-necked jug, oil container) from Steinau in Hesse, stoneware, turned. Flat base, ovoid body, cylindrical profiled neck, lipped rim. Circumferential ring bead which merges into a ribbon handle. Four circumferential grooves on the shoulder. Cobalt blue brush painting with black colour effect. On the front a toothed circle with inscription, salt glaze with brown colour effect. Hessen. Date: 1828.
