“1963 allocations”

In a decree dated 29 June 1963, the Ministry of Education authorised the Federal Monuments Authority to hand over artworks “intended for Hitler's planned ‘Führer Museum in Linz’” to the federal collections for safekeeping, as two storage rooms in the Salzburg Residence had to be emptied.[1] These included the painting in question.
