Annotations
Stanisław Nowogrodzki was persecuted by the Nazi regime because of his political affiliation and activities and deported to concentration and extermination camps. He died in Gusen camp on 1 July 1942. The work was purchased in 1963, although the gap in the chain of provenance has not yet been closed.
